Job Description:
Job Description Summary * IMPORTANT NOTE : APPLICANTS MUST be
currently enrolled at ULV and have a FEDERAL WORK STUDY award to be
eligible for this position. * OCCE – The Language Arts Development
Workshop Leader should have a desire for deepening their
understanding of social justice and child development as well as
the language arts. An interest in research and statistical analysis
is helpful. Creativity and the ability to address the needs of
individual children are a must! The main task for the Language Arts
Development Workshop Leader will be to prepare a weekly lesson plan
and teach a weekly workshop for K-8th grade students. The starting
pay for this position is $17.00 per hour. Minimum Qualifications
Must be a current University of La Verne student with Federal Work
Study eligibility for the 2023-2024 academic year Ability to work
collaboratively in a highly interactive environment Good oral and
written communication skills General clerical and organizational
skills Critical thinking and problem solving skills Takes
initiative and a self-starter Preferred Qualifications Access to
personal computer to complete work-study assignments Work Schedule
Hours: 1 consistent weekday afternoon, MON – THU , 2:45pm -5:45pm *
Besides the Wednesday afternoon workshop time, all other hours are
flexible. The STEM Leader will be expected to set a consistent
weekly schedule with the Outreach Director, Miriam De La Torre.
Students must have their own transportation to and from Pomona
