If you are seeking a dynamic, innovative environment, this opportunity is for you The Boeing Company is looking for a Mid-Level or Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team in Long Beach, CA. You will be part of a team that consists of highly knowledgeable and experienced engineers making an immediate impact on Boeing---s success and the aviation industry. As a Mid-Level/Senior Structural Analysis Engineer in the Propulsion Engineering Organization, you will be working on Boeing Commercial Aircraft Propulsion products. Variety in work is assured with tasks that range from the development phase, providing sustaining program support, to post-production fleet support and after-market modifications. Some travel may be required to support testing work with enterprise teams and suppliers. Primary Responsibilities: Performs detailed structural analysis (static strength and fatigue) to determine structural integrity, using classical techniques and Boeing tools. This analysis supports new development designs, trade studies, responses to customer inquiries, production issues, failure investigations, and to show compliance with regulatory requirements. Guides structural design and configuration development. Performs trade studies to optimize structure and meet program requirements. Develops, deploys and supports in-house and commercial application software to enable efficient performance of engineering tasks. Researches and prepares data to support definition of structural design requirements. Develops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the system design. Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment. Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance. Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied. Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements. Works under general direction. Employer willing to sponsor applicants for employment visa status. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering. 4 years of related engineering experience. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Level 3 - 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Level 4 & 5 - 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Master degree preferred Communication and presentation skills Writing skills Research skills Stress analysis experience Typical Education/Experience: Mid-Level (Level 3): Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Senior (Level 4) Bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Senior (Level 5) Bachelor's degree typically 14 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Shift: This position is for 1st shift.
