seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Packaging Engineer to
join our innovative team at fast-growing and up and coming leader
in the Additive Manufacturing and Hyper-car industries. In this
pivotal role, you will drive technical execution and optimization
across all packaging, labeling, and compliance activities
supporting both Divergent Technologies and Czinger Vehicles—
pioneers in advanced additive manufacturing and high-performance
vehicle production. The ideal candidate brings deep understanding
of complex manufacturing environments, resilient and efficient
supply chains, and strategic packaging design. You will develop
cost-effective, lifecycle-optimized solutions for inbound/outbound
transportation as well as internal material handling, ensuring
protection, agility, and performance under demanding operational
conditions typical of Aerospace and Defense as well as advanced
mobility applications. You will collaborate cross-functionally with
engineering, program management, logistics, procurement,
production, and finance teams to align packaging strategies with
aggressive project timelines, technical specifications, and
long-term strategic objectives. This position offers the

technologies. The Role Lead design, development, quoting, and
procurement of packaging solutions for outbound finished goods for
both automotive and aerospace & defense programs. Support
cross-functional coordination with Program Management, Design
Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Logistics to
ensure packaging solutions meet technical baselines. Implement
packaging designs and preservation methods that protect critical
hardware during processing, transportation, storage, and
deployment. Generate and maintain controlled packaging
documentation including drawings, specifications, work
instructions, test reports, and marking and labeling instructions.
Ensure labeling meets all applicable military, hazardous material,
serialization, traceability, and shipping requirements. Support
packaging qualification testing (environmental, drop, vibration,
compression, hazmat). Interface with suppliers and third-party test
laboratories to support material qualification and certification
activities. Assist in packaging risk assessments, failure
investigations, and corrective action implementation. Support audit
readiness activities and compliance reviews. Lead packaging
development and strategy from initial design through launch for new
programs Review inbound packaging solutions across highest spend
commodities, and work with suppliers and vendors to improve
packaging solutions that will increase utilization/reduce packaging
piece costs. Design lineside conveyance solutions to support both
vehicle and printed part manufacturing. Provide systematic support
regarding sub-inventory and locator naming conventions, labeling
standards, and warehouse scan-ability. Serve as packaging SME
(subject matter expert) on cross-functional teams with engineering,
R&D, finance, compliance, and customer support. Basic
Qualifications • Ability to lawfully access information and
technology that is subject to US export controls. • Bachelor's
degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials
Science, Supply Chain, or related discipline. • Minimum 5 years of
experience in packaging engineering, with a history of designing
and implementing packaging solutions in the automotive or aerospace
industries. • Demonstrated success in managing packaging programs
in support of international logistics and global supply chains. •
Expertise in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Catia) for 3D modeling
and packaging design, as well as simulation tools for structural
analysis and optimization. • In-depth knowledge of packaging
materials, including plastics, composites, foams, and corrugated
cardboard, with a focus on sustainable and environmentally friendly
options. • Strong understanding of packaging testing standards
(e.g., ISTA, ASTM, ISO) and experience conducting physical and
environmental testing to validate packaging performance. •
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP), TMS tools, and
advanced Excel/Google Sheets. Preferred Qualifications • Experience
in early-stage or scale-up manufacturing environments. •
Familiarity with additive manufacturing logistics or
just-in-sequence automotive production. • Experience with CAD and
packaging design software is a plus. • Strong project management
skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with POP or certified packaging. • Familiarity with
military standards/specifications. • Familiarity with
sustainability initiatives and environmentally friendly packaging
solutions. • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing/Poka-Yoke principles

Compensation At Divergent, our pay range is based on the level of
the job. For this role, we will consider candidates at levels S05
as evaluated through our interview process. S05 / Senior Engineer:
