Disney Branded Television is uniquely situated among the studios and platforms at The Walt Disney Company. DBT develops, produces and acquires all of the programming for our 3 worldwide cable kids ' and family networks: Disney Channel, Disney Junior, and Disney XD. In addition, DBT develops, produces and acquires programming that resides under the Disney tile on Disney+, our worldwide streaming service, in sole partnership with TWDC 's other premium brands: Pixar; Marvel; Lucasfilm; and National Geographic. Such content is intended for the much broader -4 quadrant - audiences worldwide. DBT also oversees the development, production, and acquisition of programming intended for the Disney tile on Disney+ from our sister studios at TWDC and from outside, 3rd party studios. The scope of DBT 's content creation encompasses: animated and live action; scripted and unscripted; short films and feature-length movies; specials; multi-season and limited, episodic series; and episodic and feature-length documentaries. We are looking for an Executive Director of Business Affairs to join our live-action/unscripted team.Responsibilities :

  • Dealmaking. Structure, negotiate, document, and manage transactions to engage above-the-line talent (writers, producers, directors, actors), acquire underlying rights, and commission content from production companies.
  • Collaboration. Marshal new and continuing projects with Creative, Production, Finance, Marketing, PR, Brand Management, Acquisitions, Contract Admin, and Legal Affairs teams.
  • Oversight. Interface with other studios producing content for the Disney tile on Disney+.
  • Communication. Establish and maintain client relationships that move projects forward with concise, effective and timely communications concerning deal negotiation and business strategy.
  • Dedication to Improvement. Follow -best practices - and contribute towards improving deal parameters, deal memo templates, departmental process and procedures, as well as great ideas and creative problem solving on deals and projects.Basic Qualifications :
    • Experience in entertainment business affairs.
    • Commitment to excellence, honesty, and integrity.
    • Proven record as a skilled negotiator, with strong drafting abilities, exceptional communication skills, and creative problem-solving abilities.
    • Knowledge of guild and union agreements, contracts, and intellectual property law.
    • Ability to thrive inside a large corporate structure while working independently within a team-oriented environment.
    • Strong business and financial acumen.
    • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to execute against multiple high-priority projects.Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working with unscripted content within business affairs.Required Education : JD and either CA Bar membership or eligibility for RIHC
