Job Description:
Job Description Job Summary This APP position will be an
integral part of Movement Disorder and Neuromodulation division
outpatient clinic visits. They will primarily act as an independent
billing provider with RN and administrative support, conduct New
patient intake office visits, follow-up visits, hospital
discharges, and if desired, ad hoc procedures (PREEMPT Botox, Nerve
Blocks, Lumbar Punctures). They are encouraged to attend weekly
case conference meetings to discuss patient care questions. New
Patient Intake Office Visits: The APP will perform New Patient
Intake office visits utilizing diagnosis-based templates. The
incumbent will perform a chart review, administer a symptom-focused
battery of tests (MOCA, HIT6, PHQ9, etc.), and order appropriate
diagnostic testing (MRI’s, EEG’s, EMGs, labs, etc.). The incumbent
will then decide to transfer care to other sub-specialty attending,
keep in their patient panel, or complete the consult and re-direct
patient back to their primary care provider. Decision-making
support will be provided by the physician supervisor and/or other
general neurologists in the practice group. Regular communication
amongst the practice group, RN and admin staff to facilitate and
coordinate patient care is highly encouraged and valued Follow Up
Visits: Established patients’ visits will mainly consist of the
APPs own patient panel and/or patients they are co-managing with
the attending provider. This will include medication
ordering/management, diagnostic test orders & review, and will have
RN support for RN approved medication refill/diagnostic testing.
The salary range for this position is $96.97 to $130.49 (Hourly

benefits/index.html Required Qualifications Graduation from a PA
Program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on
Education for the PA (ARC-PA). Two (2) year's of experience in an
ambulatory or clinic neurology setting, involving independent
patient encounters or shared visits One (1)year experience of
Neurology experience as a Physician Assistant. Flexibility to
orient and work at all UCSF Health locations Preferred
Qualifications Neurology expertise in Movement Disorder ACLS
Membership in professional organizations License/Certification
Active and current California Physician Assistant License (PA)
California driver’s license (CDL) if required for position Current
national board certification by first day of work and maintain
Complete Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with
Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address
Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through the
credentialing process by first clinical day. Current AHA BLS UCSF
Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to
be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of
Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day.
Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes
