Headquartered in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, we deliver affordable and increasingly renewable energy to 22 million customers across central and Southern California.Primary Purpose:Develops, implements, and delivers Gas Operations training programs to new and current internal Distribution construction field employees. May on occasion deliver training across departments requiring out of town travel and hotel stays. Determines student ability to satisfactorily meet training objectives. Consults with clients to diagnose and analyze training-related issues. Reviews and revises training materials as necessary. Project manages team in development of new training material and programs. Provides expert consulting to internal Company clients and external agencies on procedures equipment, technologies, and technical issues.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Plans, prepares, and delivers technical and non-technical Construction Technician (CT), Energy Technician-Distribution (ETD), and Lead Construction Technician (LCT) training programs for Distribution construction field employees and external agencies.Interprets and explains policies to students in a manner consistent with Company guidelines.Evaluates, rates, and determines student ability to satisfactorily meet training objectives.Project manages the development of training materials and programs.May be required to come in early or stay late to setup or shut down a class.As a subject matter expert (SME), provides technical advice to Distribution Staff, Field Operations Supervisors, Instructional Designers, and internal and external consultants, as well as develops and revises course outlines and related materials.Reviews and designs changes in lesson plans, course material, outlines, props, tests, and visual aids for continuity, effectiveness, and uniformity to support Company procedures, course objectives and policies.Reviews Gas Standards during review periods and comments on clarity and potential impacts to training and work processes.Amends course material based on updated Gas Standards.Acts as work supervisor for students during course of class.Conducts counseling interview for students not meeting training performance standards or seeking guidance.Provides advice on methods to improve student performance.Prepares written appraisals or interims concerning students' ability to satisfactorily meet centralized training objectives.Conducts exit interviews with students when training objectives are not met.Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).Required Education, Certifications, Licenses and Experience:High School Diploma or GED required.5+ years of in-depth industry experience and knowledge in the role being instructed.Experience in the natural gas Distribution industry as a Laborer or Foreman is Required.Preferred candidate will have previous experience as a Foreman, Field Supervisor, and/or experience as an Instructor/Trainer.Valid California Driver's license.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Acts in accordance with safety guidelines and procedures.
